This unit applies to workers in the annual, vegetable and flower growing industries operating within established routines, methods and procedures and is likely to be under supervision and according to directions.

This unit covers the process of planting of horticultural crops and defines the standard required to: prepare soil or growing media for planting; apply pre-planting soil and plant treatments; carry out planting and water in plants; apply other treatments to seedlings if required.

water in plants and apply other treatments to seedlings if required.

Competency requires the application of work practices under work conditions. Selection and use of resources for some worksites may differ due to the regional or enterprise circumstances.
